It was good, thanks for asking. Yes, it was a success in that she was completely surprised and very happy. The organizer had a chef come and make us seafood paella so we had tons of good food.
But YES, we had so much trouble. She did her best to ruin the party, but in a way, she made it more fun because the whole dinner, every time she would say something outrageous, boring, insulting or idiotic, every person was rolling their eyes or mouthing something to someone or kicking each other or even making rude comments. I truly don't think she ever picked up on it -- because her fundamental problem is that she's so self-absorbed she doesn't pay attention to anyone else -- and we were being so horrible, but she asked for it. Then, after she and her husband left, we spent the rest of the night ripping her apart. It looks like soon, she's going to be "divorced" by everyone. It's just unbearable to be around Bridezilla, or her new name, "The Me Monster."
Oh, I got invited to join the book club. ;) But my friend prefaced it by saying that they never read the books anymore, so I think it's more just an excuse to get together. We'll see. I also think they pick silly books, anyway. This is the current pick:
